Planning and Scheduling (Preactor)

Posted on

SFJ Systems has been implementing Preactor – a planning and scheduling system – for 15 years. We also train managers and company staff directly as part of our implementation. SFJ specialise using the Preactor API, writing bespoke algorithms with the P400 and Ultimate systems. We have extensive implementation experience throughout the UK, Ireland, Mexico and Hungary. We are very active for large food, electronic/engineering and major appliance companies. Typically: Northern Foods, Grampian Foods, Vion Foods, Solway foods, Fletchers Bakery; Flextronics, Scandinavian Designs, Metaltech Engineering; Delero Stellite, Cash Bases, respectively.

As well as planning and scheduling software, we specialise in demand planning, forecasting and complete integrated systems for food companies linking into SAP, AS400 and different MRP systems. We have MRP expertise and can consult at this level on clients’ systems if required. A speciality is writing Preactor algorithms when companies require unusual loading requirements on their resources.

SFJ is a leader in technology development and has a background in enhancing a company’s current systems to bring them in line with the latest Preactor technology, sometimes using web-enabled systems to do this.

We run 24/7 support contracts if required inside the UK and Internationally. We have many case studies, having won the Preactor case study of the year back in 2005. Although not a bulk mover of Preactor, we tend to work with clients on a long term basis.

How does it work? An introduction to Preactor

Preactor® is a state of the art scheduling package that we use to improve the control of your processes. Preactor® really is ‘the path to scheduling excellence’ as it enables us to balance the finite capacity of your processes against your market place demand. As solution providers we strive to provide you with the solutions you need to improve process yields and become more profitable. Using Preactor® we notice immediate benefits in improved process efficiency and control through introducing a philosophy of following accurately derived work-to lists whilst continually highlighting and addressing schedule deviations which are highlighted promptly.

As solution providers we configure Preactor® specifically based on your unique manufacturing disciplines. This is achieved through interaction between yourself and us to tailor your specific needs into Preactor®, in essence the entire database and menu system can be structured to represent the process requirements of yourself and those of your customers. To enable you to use and configure the system yourself we run the Preactor® training courses where you will be taught to re-configure the system to adapt to demand changes when you experience them so that the system continues to meet your needs exactly.
